5 STATES DOWN, 1 MORE TO GO

It took about 3 hours for them to load the four boats onto our trailer. We were ever watchful to remind them that we could not have an overall length greater than 75 feet, or a height of more than 13 feet 6 inches. They moved them this way and that way, finally resorting to collapsing the windshield on the top back boat and then redoing the shrink wrap. Then like a watchful mother who stares at the clock waiting for her children to return to her nest, I watched as Craig slowly pulled out of the loading bay to see if any of the boats would hit the maximum height sign. I truly think the loaders were happier than I was that it did indeed clear the sign and we were on our way down the road, but only to the nearest truck stop......it had been a long day.

Leaving this morning after filling our mugs with fresh coffee, we drove through South Carolina, Georgia and the dreaded Atlanta traffic, Alabama, Mississippi, and finally made it into Louisiana! WHEW.... 600 plus miles and we are within 360 miles of our unload site in Sachse, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. We hope to be there by noon tomorrow. From there? Who knows where we will be sent. We have asked for home time, but as with in the past, they are having a hard time finding a load of boats going to California.......I'm hoping that will change when we move to Washington!

Steve was in Georgia when the snow was flying....said he had never seen such drivers. They really were stunned by the white stuff. It is really, really cold here Diane....I got up at 2 this morning and it was minus 12. In the paper today it said Deer Park was -9, Priest Lake -8, Spokane 0 and CDA -2. Beyond burrrr at the moment. I get warm, the dogs want to go out, I am cold, takes forever to warm up, then the dogs want out.....

Your picture made me think of a roadway sign:
"Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November. And anyone else caught speeding in our town."

My grandfather once said that 2/3 of the population is moving to the suburbs. The other 1/3 are on the freeway looking for the exit.
