WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES

I don't know what happened, but we must have been good in a previous lifetime, the weather took a turn for the cooler. We stayed in Las Vegas for the night, but had to keep the truck running for air conditioning. It still remained warm through Kingman, Arizona, but then, thankfully, there was Flagstaff. It started to get cloudy, and I watched our weather station go from 90 degrees down to 65 degrees. AHHHHHHH we were happy campers. Funny how Arizona can go from this:

To this in such a short time:

We were so happy Craig had to buy a hat with our mantra on it: LIFE IS GOOD

We are spending the night at a truck stop next to the Route 66 Casino, about 10 miles west of Albuquerque. As we settled in, yes Craig was happy, he had TV to watch, I was not, no internet, but before we retired to the comfort of our cab we were blessed with a rainbow.

And then the lighting, thunder and rain came in! But we had our first night in a long time without having to run the truck all night. We opened the vents and put in the window screens and we had a restful, cool night's sleep!

Now on our way back through New Mexico I started seeing a trend. Most of their overpasses were decorative in nature. But by the time I caught on I was only able to get a photo of two of them.

Craig thoroughlyy understands what the color "terra cotta" is now.

Going back into Texas was much the same, windmills on open range land:

Small town Americana where even the smallest towns have football stadiums:

And as they say, everything is big in Texas, just check out this watermelon:

We arrived in Southlake, Texas and will have all day Sunday to explore even though the weather will be in the upper 90's. We still have that elusive Texas BBQ to go in search of. Wish us luck.
