SWASHBUCKLIN’ GOOD TIME…. ARRRRRR

Today found us going to the yard where we are to drop off the water truck and finding an employee there that would sign for it. Bad news was that the humidity was about 70% and by the short time it took us to unchain and unload the truck we were drenched with sweat, or as they say in the south, perspiration.

We were able to leave the trailer in their yard for a little while so that we could run to the local Wal-Mart, where it was nice and cool, and pick up some groceries for the week. We then headed over to a local theatre to take in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

This was a first for us. We got to see the movie in their biggest theatre, of course after all we are in Texas. About 30 minutes before the movie was to begin, one of the managers walked out onto the stage and I thought he was going to be the opening act. He greeted us and made us all yell hello back, and proceeded to tell us this would be a sold out showing of the movie, so please don't save seats. That wasn't a problem for us since both of our butts were in prime seats. He then stated, just like a Texan, that the screen we would be watching it on was the biggest movie screen in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, they like to brag a lot in Texas. Picture us impressed (not). The movie was good, we both give it two thumbs up!

We left the next day headed to Pharr by way of Austin, Texas. We got stuck in a bit of commute traffic too.

We decided to stop for a rest and a bite to eat at a truck stop in New Braunfels, Texas and head back out around 2am. We stopped in Sarita, Texas at a rest stop and it was the most strangest thing. When we stepped out of the truck the air was heavy with warm humid air. There were palm trees all over and the sounds of birds which you imagine you would hear in a rain forest. You actually felt as if you had been transplanted to a strange exotic land. Oh, and the moon was full and bright.

We dropped off the trailer, it will be returned to us hopefully tomorrow loaded with boats for our trip to Washington state. Until then we were put up in a Motel 6 and will be enjoying the internet (yipee) and the air conditioning. I'll update again on our way up North.
