OUT OF THE FRYING PAN, INTO THE FIRE

We seem to have traded one hot city for another. After getting yet another lay over on Wednesday, we were finally dispatched Thursday morning to head to Las Vegas, Nevada to pick up a water truck which was bought at an auction by a company from Southlake, Texas.

We must be getting old, since we were more than willing to leave the Phoenix area, especially the parking lot of the hotel we stayed from Wednesday morning to Thursday. You see, around noon or so on Wednesday, this beat up old bus with the word "OZZFEST" on the front of it pulled in and every type of character you can imagine came crawling off that bus.

It did give us some entertainment for awhile. We also had a couple of other large motorhome type touring buses with some bands names on them, (we didn't recognize any of them) in the parking lot as well. I did my usual internet research and found out that the OZZFEST tour was making an appearance in Phoenix, at the Cricket Pavillion on Friday, July 7. No, we did not rush out to get our tickets, hence why I came to the conclusion we just might be turning into old farts. Well that and Craig getting way too much into watching Oprah.

So we were happy to get moving and on our way to Las Vegas. Along the way we saw lots of nothing... nothing but dry land and cactus. Much of what you would expect the desert to look like.

We did see off in the distance dark clouds and lighting which dropped quite a bit of water as we saw the flash flood warnings and the small rivers of water along side the roadways.

We will be off in the morning headed to the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas and in search of some real down home BBQ....yipee caye.
