SUMMER HEAT, TEXAS STYLE

As I mentioned before we are headed back to Texas and of course the heat again! We are so ready for Fall and cooler tempuratures to start showing up, but in the mean time we take each day and get through the heat as best as we can.

We picked up a guard rail machine mounted on an old International truck in Ohio which was bound for Paris, Texas and an independent contractor working for the Texas Department of Transportation.

I've never seen anyone more excited about a piece of equipment than this man. He couldn't wait to get it to the job site and try it out. In fact, he was so nervous, Craig had to drive the truck off the trailer for him. You should have seen the big 'ole Texas smile he had on his face as he drove away.

One of the nice things about driving around dusk is the sunsets we get to see. We were blessed to be able to witness this majestic sunset on our way to Pharr.

We dropped off the trailer Tuesday morning and were surprised that it was ready again Wednesday evening. This time however, we decided to wait until morning to take off. We were happy to be headed to Kent, Washington, but wouldn't you know it the weather man is saying there is going to be a heat wave to hit the Northwest. Oh well, we have a few days of driving to figure out where we can sit and reset Craig's driving hours over this long holiday weekend.

We will be traveling a route we have driven before, but we always seem to notice something different each time. The challenge will be to make it as interesting for you as it is for us. Until next time, hopefully in the cooler Northwest, we bid you good day!

The sunsets may have been the end of a day, but what a nice way to start mine! America is truly a beautiful country and it is a treat to rediscover that through yours and Craig's eyes!

Stay safe! Opie
