Made our way through Minnesota and ended up in Wisconsin, at a rest area in Milton. One of the truckers we talked to stated he only stayed in rest areas so we thought we would give it a try. We loved it! The grounds were well maintained, a full service bathroom with running water and flushing toilets. What more could you ask for. There were a lot of Christmas tree farms along the way in Wisconsin and of course dairy farms to make all that famous Wisconsin cheese.
Some of you will be sent some samples of the local wares sometime in the future to enjoy. We figured it was so much better than a T-shirt.
Wednesday found us up early to make our way through the windy city, Chicago, Illinois. When Craig told me of his last experience going through this city I couldn't imagine, but now I know first hand what a royal pain in the butt it is. You would not believe the amount of construction on their highways. The view coming into the city was fantastic.
I hope the pictures can give you a good idea of what we saw. We also saw the Stadium where the White Sox play.Chicago is a mass of subways and train traffic as well.
We decided to stay at another rest area in Swartz Creek, Michigan on Wednesday night. We are even able to get great TV reception at these rest areas and of course they have the finest vending machines around. After a restful night's sleep we were off this morning headed once again to Canada.
We crossed from Michigan into Canada over the Blue Water Bridge.
As you cross over the water you are in Canada.
This time we had a very easy go of it through Customs with the paperwork for the Genie and our passports ready when asked for.
After a stop in London, at a Flying J for a shower and a bite to eat and of course an update on the blog, we are off to Montreal. I'll be excited for a chance to check out the sights there hopefully Friday or Saturday.
