DODGE BALL
As a child in elementary school, the favorite activity during recess was playing dodge ball. We'd run to grab the ball out of the bin and then out onto the playground. There on the blacktop would be the large circle where we would find our places around it and pick who would be "it" first. Around we would go, "one potato, two potato, three potato, four.......my mother told me to pick the very best one..... I choose you" The designated one, in the middle of that circle, tries as hard as he or she could to dodge the big rubber ball the rest of us would be throwing.
The last couple of days has been very much like dodge ball, but this time, Craig and I are in the middle of the circle in a big 18 wheeler, and Mother Nature is trying with all her might to hit us squarely with a big storm. You can see it brewing on the horizon in the first picture. We kept our ears tuned to the weather radio station, along with nightly, watching The Weather Channel on TV. We hit pockets of snow falling, nothing heavy, but we could not avoid the wind. Thankfully, for most of our journey so far, it was a tail wind, but we all know that can change in an instant.
As we crossed the grand Columbia River into Washington the skies seemed to be just a little bluer and there was less snow on the ground. During the night the wind came in and there was a bit of rain, but thankfully, no snow. This morning we cross the border into Canada. As always, we will be keeping our ears tuned to the weather stations to monitor any storms that may be awaiting our arrival. Until then, did you hear that? It's the recess bell, and we are going out to play a little dodge ball with Mother Nature, 18 wheeler style.

I was wondering how ya'll were doing. I've been seeing the reports about that storm in the northwest and wondering if you got caught in it. Hope ya'll are still well and good. Looks like my firstreal snow travel of the season will be tonight. Chicago supposed to get 4-6 inches tonight and I don't get loaded til 10. Life goes on. Have fun.
