500th BLOG POST

I started this blog on February 7th, 2006, the day I took Craig to the San Jose Airport to fly into Spokane, WA to start his training with Systems Transport. Here it is, almost 3 years to the day that we started out on this amazing journey, and I have hit a milestone with this blog.........it's 500th entry. That my friends, is a lot of stories that have been committed to prosperity.

When I did start writing this blog, it was more
or less a way to document what we were doing and where we were going, like an online scrapbook. It provided a way for our friends and family to track where we were across North America. We also wanted to share our experiences about the trucking life and lifestyle out on the road, and if along the way, we could help others who were getting started, all the better. But little did I know, just how far reaching this blog would become, and even more unexpected, the new friends I would make along the way.

Like MOM, in Maryland, who always has a positive comment, or ROSEMARY, in Idaho who lives near us and reminds me of what I am missing while I am away from home. There is JENNIE, in Philadelphia, who shares her trials and triumphs about her family, and a new friend LAURA, in Vermont who makes my mouth water with her spectacular cooking skills and the sweet cookies she produces at her cookie company.

How could I not mention JOHN, in Ohio, and MARK in New York, fellow truckers, who are always there to acknowledge what we were experiencing on the road is normal, and sometimes not so normal, and LYNETTE & TRAPPER in North Carolina, who are just starting out living the "trucker lifestyle" together, with Lynette, leaving her job just like me, to join the man she loves. I must also mention JIM, in Missouri who's blog has sent many new people to our blog, and then DOUG, in California, just graduating from trucking school and about to start his own amazing journey.

There are so many more of you that read this blog , who do so in private and never leave a message, (and that is quite okay), and of course my friends and family which would be too numerous to mention, but you know who you are. Please know how very much your interest in what we are doing means to us. We are well over 53,000 page hits strong, and God willing, we will be able to do this for a few more years before we hang up our truck driving hat and try our hand at something else. But until that time happens, stick around, drop us a note every once in awhile so we know you are out there, and fasten your seat belt, we are happy to have you along for the journey!

Diane,

Congratulations on the milestone. You give so much and in such a positive way, what it is like on the road.

You and Craig are great ambassadors for trucking and what it's like to be a "team" out there.

I for one look for another 500 post. Thanks for everything you do.

Thanks Craig & Diane for your wonderful blog and all the fantastic photos and information that you have shared. You've made entering this "adventure" much less intimidating and anxious and much more exciting and anticipated. I look forward to traveling the hiways and biways with folks like you and many of your readers.
Thanks and congratulations! To the next 500!!!
C'ya on the Hiways!

Craig & Diane, congrats on your 500th post. I am one of those "private" lurkers, but I do check in as much as I can to see where you are and what you're up to. I enjoy reading your adventures. I am not associated with trucking (anymore), but continue to be a professional tourist as a corporate pilot. Keep up the good work!

I have been reading your blog ever since I heard you guys on sirius road dog trucking. I used to be a long haul driver myself and now enjoy reading about your adventures on a daily basis. You could say it's almost like being out there again because a lot of the places you blog about I have also been. So keep on writing as I enjoy reading. Be safe out there.

Craig and Diane: Congrats on reaching 500 posts. It is amazing how time flies by. Have enjoyed reading about your adventures and really enjoy your humor that you add to a often difficult profession. Be safe and keep those wheels turning and these keys clicking as we go for another 500.

You have been a blessing to us all. You always seem to make the drudgery of a bad day not seem so bad anymore. Thanks for helping us keep good attitudes no matter what we face. (That must be your law enforcement experience coming through.)

Congratulations on your 500th post!! I keep forgetting to mark any of mine as milestones.
I love reading about your adventures on the road, and the fabulous photos of the beautiful scenery that you get to enjoy.
We live right on a trucking route and your stories give me just a little bit of insight into the truckers that drive by our house all day and night.(mostly dairy and logging trucks) Thanks for including me in your post and keep up the good work!!
